Digital Healthcare Explained – Privacy Policy

Last modified: February 28th, 2019

Included Assets

As the Digital Healthcare Explained app works purely through Audio, the list of included contents and the respective licenses is collected here:

Augmented Reality

This application runs on ARCore, which is provided by Google LLC and governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Sensitive Permissions

The app experience is using Augmented Reality. This super-imposes virtual 3D content on the live camera stream of your phone. The camera stream is processed locally by Google ARCore and is not transmitted to the Internet. Live camera analysis is required to establish basic 3D geometry of your surroundings, in order to place virtual scene content in relation to your real surroundings.

What information do you collect?

The app does not contain its own data collection tools or mechanisms. However, the underlying services may collect certain data:

  • Amazon Sumerian: the Augmented Reality scene contents are built with the cloud-based Amazon Sumerian tool. As such, the application installed on your phone only ships with the player component, while the actual scene content is loaded dynamically from the AWS cloud. Amazon performs usage tracking, including for billing purposes. Please read the respective Amazon AWS privacy policy for further details.
  • Google Play Store: installs as well as basic usage and crash information is tracked by default by Google, to provide necessary download, usage and quality statistics to both the public Google Play Store as well as the developer. You have accepted the respective Privacy Policy of Google at the latest prior to downloading apps from the Play Store. You can read through the general Google Privacy Policy on their web site.

How do you use the information?

We use the statistical usage information to improve the features and stability of the app. If you have any specific feedback, please feel free to contact us.

What information do you share?

The app does not share any information with 3rd party services.
